Q. How do I get ready for a showing in 15 minutes or less?

Q. How do I get ready for a showing in 15 minutes or less?

A. It can be very stressful when a last minute showing request comes in. If your home is on the market, hopefully it is always somewhat “showing ready,” but here is a quick hit list of what to do if you get one of those dreaded last minute requests:

¨ Empty the dishes out of the kitchen sink.

¨ Clear any papers or junk off the kitchen counters.

¨ Take a trash bag and empty waste baskets throughout the home.

¨ Take that trash bag and the kitchen trash out of the house.

¨ Clear off the bathroom counters of any excess items.

¨ Close all the toilet lids and shower curtains as you go.

¨ If the beds are not made, smooth out the covers.

¨ Pick up any clothes or shoes off the floor and stick them in a closet.

¨ Turn on all the lights and open the window shades.
