This month all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies. This means you will start getting telemarketing calls on your cell phone if you haven't already. And YES, you will have to pay for those minutes.
To prevent this, call the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It will only take a minute. But it will block your number for five (5) years.
It is a must that you call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You can also call from your home telephone to have that phone number blocked. It takes effect in approx. 31 days.
This is important for Realtors as we are always getting calls on our cell phone and it is important to answer even when we don't recognize the caller. You never know where that next lead is coming from. However, we don't need any unnecessary calls when we are driving, meeting with clients, on the line with someone important, etc. Plus, it will cost more if it gobbles up our minutes.
Tell your kids too, they certainly don't need telemarketers calling them and having their phone ring while at school or trying to do their homework, etc.
