Beginning Wednesday, September 21, 2001, Montgomery County will open a Disaster Recovery Center.
The facility will be located at:
1175 Conshohocken Road, Conshohocken, PA
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The center will remain open indefinitely. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will have the authority to close the facility once they feel the needs of the residents have been met.
Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Small Business Administration, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and several other state and federal agencies will be available for both uninsured and under-insured residents to get aid to help with home repairs, major home construction, and temporary housing for those affected by Hurricane Irene. Renters and business owners are eligible for grants also.
Anyone affected by Tropical Storm Lee earlier this month are not yet eligible for assistance, according to John Corcoran who is the Director of Communications for Montgomery County. The county is working on getting federal disaster assistance for those affected by Lee, but that has not yet been approved.
Anyone affected by Irene can call FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or apply for disaster assistance online.
