OPERATION BROTHERLY LOVE HOLIDAY CARNIVAL

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS: We are a group of friends, colleagues and business partners who are seeking a deeper level of interaction with the community. We are interested in helping others in ways that extend beyond monetary support. Annually, Operation Brotherly Love hosts a large holiday event to spread joy to area families during 
the holidays and inspire others to do the same for their communities. From individuals to corporations, all share a common goal: to connect with families and children in need, and create a happy holiday season for all.
THE MISSION OF OPERATION BROTHERLY LOVE: To bring together City leaders, families, corporations and individuals to give as many children as possible the holiday they deserve and to show them that somebody truly cares about them. To promote a sense of community and create an understanding of the importance of connecting with each other and helping others do the same.
EVENT DETAILS: On December 18th, more than 1000 dedicated volunteers, and deserving families will come together for the 2nd annual Operation Brotherly Love, a Carnival for Kids supporting 
more than 200 Philadelphia-area families in need, providing 500+ children with personalized holiday gifts. The event will include an exciting afternoon of carnival games, dancing, entertainment, food and fun.
Upon arriving at the event, each family will be greeted by a volunteer who will be hosting them throughout the afternoon. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, area sports celebrities, Eagle's Mascot, Swoop, and Wawa's Mascot, Wally Goose will all be in attendance, and share in an exciting afternoon including:
- Carnival games
- Balloon Sculptors
- Face painters
- Food and music
- Family Photo Station providing a photo for every family in attendance
At the end of the evening each child will receive a personalized gift that has been selected as one of the seasons' "best selling items". All families will receive a Target gift card, too. In addition, Operation Warm will be providing a brand new winter coat for each child and parents will receive a new gift from Urban Outfitters.

SIDE NOTE: My kids and I were lucky enough to volunteer at this event last year. We had such a wonderful time with our families that we hosted throughout the day. The Urban Outfitters headquarters is an amazing place for this event. The joy and the fun was overwhelming. We danced to the DJ's music, played the carnival games, and had a great lunch and dinner with our families. All the corporate sponsors really outdid themselves with the food and festivities. At the end of the day was the best part, we got to present our families with a big sack of presents including a toy, a new winter coat, and candy for each child. The parents got new hat, glove and scarf sets and a gift card to Target. We are thrilled to participate again this year.
