Bux-Mont Real Estate and More: The Spring Cleaning Shopping Checklist!

The Spring Cleaning Shopping Checklist!

The Spring Cleaning Shopping Checklist!

Everyone loves to have a clean house, and spring is the perfect time to declutter your home. The warm weather and fresh air encourages people to open their windows and air out their house. The flowers are blooming, fresh and clean, so why not clean up your house as well? Check out these essential spring cleaning items before you get started.

1. Trash Bags

Step one in any spring cleaning regimen is to get rid of old junk and excess clutter. While some of your clutter will be cleared by simply putting it where it belongs, most people’s spring cleaning ends with a large pile of trash and a pile to donate to Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Having plenty of trash bags available can help you to easily sort your keep, toss and donate piles.

2. Vacuum Cleaner and Swiffer

Once you have cleared out all of your old items and clutter, you will need to start the deep cleaning process. The first step is to vacuum, sweep and mop all of the floors. A cordless vacuum and a Swiffer sweeper can come in handy at times like this. While traditional mops are usually more cost effective, there is something to be said about a mop that does not require you to drag around a bucket of soapy water.

3. A Slim Duster and Cloths

Cleaning in and around hard to reach places can be a real pain, but pairing a slim duster with more traditional rags and feather dusters can ensure that you have all the right tools for the job. A slim duster can be used to clean under the refrigerator and in narrow crevices - the kinds of places that would ordinarily be overlooked.

4. Rubber Gloves

Once your house has been vacuumed and dusted, you will want to tackle deep cleaning the bathrooms and scrubbing the baseboards and other scuffed up areas. While the baseboards can be cleaned with a mixture of warm, soapy water, the chemicals used to clean the bathrooms can be hard on your hands. You will want to make sure you have a good pair of rubber gloves to protect your hands from scuffs, scratches and exposure to chemicals.

5. Fresh Sheets and Towels

Once your house is spotless, you might want to replace some of the old linens. New sheets for the bed or towels for the bathroom can help the whole room feel fresh and clean.

Once you have acquired all of the items on your spring cleaning shopping list, you will be ready to tackle the dirt and dust accumulated throughout the winter.
